OUR STORY

Redefining Freight Visibility

In 2008, one of our founders saw a problem in logistics: brokers and carriers were navigating blind, forced to manage freight without reliable tracking tools. Determined to change that, he founded Locus Traxx, pioneering real-time tracking technology designed for brokered freight.

From the initial bulky prototypes—to the revolutionary Locus Traxx GO, the industry’s first disposable, real-time tracker—the company rapidly advanced. They miniaturized devices, built a global network of customers, developed a sophisticated cloud-based platform, and revolutionized the tracking industry. That success led to the 2016 acquisition of Locus Traxx by Emerson.

Later that same year, he reconnected with another industry leader and longtime friend during a national logistics conference. During a casual conversation about "what's next" for the logistics industry, the two realized that disposable trackers had been a significant step forward but a suboptimal solution.

Disposable trackers created unnecessary environmental waste and forced carriers, brokers, and shippers to manage costly devices for every load. At the same time, the introduction of smartphone-based tracking apps, though seemingly convenient, was highly unpopular among carriers who disliked the "surveillance" aspect of having their personal phones constantly monitored.

Our founders knew there had to be a better way—a sustainable, carrier-friendly solution that provided precise tracking without burdening drivers, respected their privacy, reduced environmental waste, and allowed carriers to benefit from their own tracking data.

This inspired the creation of Guardian Visibility.

Guardian Visibility solved these issues by permanently installing discreet, robust tracking hardware directly onto the trailers—freeing drivers from intrusive apps and significantly reducing environmental waste. Guardian's revolutionary approach also put carriers back in control, enabling them to own, use, and monetize their tracking data. It created a win-win scenario: carriers enjoy improved operational efficiency, reduced costs, additional revenue streams, and the elimination of surveillance concerns, while shippers and brokers gain highly accurate, reliable real-time monitoring of their loads.

Today, Guardian Visibility is more than just a technology platform—it's a trusted growing network built on transparency, innovation, and respect for carriers and their drivers. It's a vision committed to redefining the future of logistics through innovation, partnership, and trust.
